About Divers Cove

CT Scuba Equipment Repair, Scuba Diving Equipment Sales, & Scuba Lessons Shop

Divers Cove began on August 23, 1981 when Ed Rosacker became a NAUI instructor. Ed started teaching scuba classes and selling diving equipment out of the back of his van. He then set up his first dive shop in the basement of his house in Baltic Connecticut. In 1986 Divers Cove opened up in a storefront in Taftville Connecticut. The business continued to grow, and in 1991 Ed bought Charlie Wolf's scuba business, Sea Wolf Divers in East Haddam, and moved to our current location at Essex Plaza in Essex Connecticut, across from the Essex Steam Train. The dive shop has expanded to 3 store fronts since the initial move there.

As a family-run business, Ed, Chris, and their staff treat their customers with a friendly and comfortable atmosphere - and the coffee is always on!

Divers Cove is a true full-service scuba shop. We offer instruction for scuba diving from the beginner level up through instructor preparation. We sell snorkeling equipment, spearfishing equipment, swimming goggles and fins, and a full line of scuba equipment. We service and repair all scuba equipment, including dry suits, full face masks, tanks, regulators, and buoyancy compensators. The service and repairs are done in-house; only cameras and watches get sent out. We also rent scuba equipment and fill tanks with air, nitrox, or trimix.

Divers Cove offers boat diving charters both locally and out of state. We also run group trips from the St. Lawrence Seaway to the Galapagos Islands. Our summer Wednesday late afternoon dives are a great opportunity for divers, especially new or "rusty", to meet other divers and be under the watchful eye of one of our staff members.

Divers Cove has been servicing the diving and snorkeling community for over 40 years! Stop by and see us!  GIFT CERTIFICATES available for gift giving!
