ST. LAWRENCE SEAWAY TRIP - Aug 19, 2015 @ 12:00 am thru Aug 23, 2015 @ 12:00 am

Our annual St. Lawrence Seaway trip is August 19-23, 2015.  This year we will be doing something new in addition to our normal setup.  This year we will do 3 days of boat charters.  There are 18 spots available for this trip, and hopefully all 18 will be filled.  The charters will be split up into 2 groups:  each day will rotate a group of 12 to dive with Wayne and Thousand Island Pleasure Diving doing wrecks; and 6 to dive with Andy-Bottom Time Dive Charters at the Lost Villages.  See below:

Along the Long Sault Parkway located just an hour west of Montreal is Lock 21, known as one of Canada’s best shore dives off Macdonell Island.  Here you will see remnants of the Lost Villages including house foundations, bridges and more.  These Villages were flooded to make way for the International Seaway and Power Dam project of 1958. Signs of the ghostly communities still remain on the islands as the former highway #2 is seen to appear out of the shoreline waters to traverse Macdonell Island only to return to the waters on the far shore. Just off the same island is Lock 21, one of the 23 locks of the original canal system, it sits under 30 feet of water; a scuba diver's dream. A short boat ride away and you can see the Mille Roches Powerhouse just off Guindon Park.  The Powerhouse is the remnants of a building that was torn down in the late 1950s for the St. Lawrence Seaway & Power Generation project.  Gates, generators, turbines and aquaducts were left intact and can be explored.

Housing will be at  Caigers Resort in Mallorytown Ontario
